The Functional Testing Process
Apart from pre-testing before an individual starts a learning program and using multiple assessments throughout an entire course at a given level, the 20/20 MDS® also utilizes and end-of course Functional Test. This test provides a simple measure of retained knowledge in a particular subject area, asking students to recall the key concepts and then put them to use in relevant situations that they encounter in the workplace.
The functional test is once again provided in an on-line format and offers students four alternative answers to each question posed (with 5 questions relating to each module within an entire course-including the specific electives the student has chosen to do). Not only does this give the leaner feedback on where they might like to do more reading or review, but it also offers management feedback on where groups of students or whole classes are in most need of development (allowing for more training or coaching to be provided if necessary). |
